BIA in Barcelona: Our 2014 Student Winner Arrives at Roca's Headquarters

Our 2014 student winner Queena Le has wasted no time in taking up her BIA prize and the chance to learn from some of the world’s best bathroom product designers at Roca in Barcelona, Spain.

Over the next two weeks we’ll be sharing Queena’s incredible money-can’t-buy experience with you here on our inspiration blog and via Facebook, Twitter and Instagram, starting with her first impressions of Roca’s headquarters and the Catalonian capital.

First day on the job and Queena was shown some of Roca’s best work at the Roca Gallery in Barcelona by the manager of their Innovation Lab. “I’ve never seen so many bathroom products in one place before…a bathroom designer’s heaven!” she said.

Day two was all about finding out more about how the Roca tap magic happens with a tour of their faucet factory. “This is lots and lots of faucets hung up and ready to be electroplated,” Queena explains.

Of course, a trip to Barcelona is never all about the work. Queena’s taking the opportunity to soak up the best of city’s design sights and cuisine. Of Gaudi’s iconic Casa Mila Queena said, “This building is madness in the best possible way.”
